Published the final Report of the 2018 Harvest (DOP/PGI) in Andalusia.

Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Development of the Regional Government of Andalusia published the “Final Report of the 2018 Harvest in the Regions Protected by Quality Labels in Andalusia,” reflecting the increase in production and the lower alcohol content compared to the previous year, as well as the stability of prices. The main conclusions of the report are as follows:
• The campaign took place on the most typical calendar for each region, after several years marked by early harvests.
• The vines have recovered thanks to favorable spring and summer weather conditions, which led to an increase in production, breaking the trend of the previous two campaigns.
• The availability of water and mild temperatures allowed for slow maturation, resulting in grapes of very good quality, though with lower alcohol content than in previous years.
• No health incidents occurred despite favorable conditions for them, thanks to the care and work of the producers.
• The prices paid to farmers vary depending on the production areas and varieties but have generally been similar to those of the previous campaign for white wines and slightly higher for reds.
