How to Prepare the Application Solution for Whitening Products
Several decades ago, the practice of shading greenhouses by whitening their covers with specialized whitening products became a common technique in southeastern Spain to reduce interior temperatures during the hottest seasons of the year.
The use of INDALOBLANC® products, combined with proper ventilation, is the most effective system for lowering temperatures. There is no alternative to coating the greenhouse cover, as this method provides an effective, low-cost solution.
For optimal results, proper preparation of the application solution and correct application to the greenhouse cover are essential.
Steps for Preparing INDALOBLANC® Powder Products
- Gradually pour the product into the water tank until a homogeneous dilution is achieved (it is recommended to pre-dilute the product in a separate container before adding it to the application tank). The water must be clean and free of physical and chemical contaminants.
- Use an appropriate mixing system to ensure complete dissolution of INDALOBLANC® products.
- Maintain continuous agitation of the mixing system throughout the entire application process.
Additional Recommendations
- Do not apply if there is a risk of frost, rain, or strong winds.
- Do not mix with other products.
- For proper adhesion, the greenhouse cover must be free of dust, grease, or previous whitening products.
- Do not apply to wet covers.
- The product’s durability depends on various external factors such as extreme rainfall, hail, strong winds, the age of the plastic, and/or improper cleaning of the cover.
- It is recommended to clean the application equipment with clean water after use.
